Senior Congress leader Shriprakash Jaiswal today alleged that BJP is using the “weapon of communalism” as it is on the brink of a defeat in Bihar Assembly elections.
“BJP has used its weapon of communalism when it’s on the verge of defeat in Bihar,” Jaiswal said in a reference to BJP chief Amit Shah’s remark that there would be celebrations in Pakistan if the grand alliance win in the state.
“The attempts being made to communalise the atmosphere in Uttar Pradesh are politically motivated,” he told reporters here.
The Congress leader said his party decided to take out rallies across the country on the 31st death anniversary of former prime minister Indira Gandhi to make people aware of such attempts.
Jaiswal also alleged that the SP government’s “apathy” towards the recent incidents in the state was “unexpected”.
