BJP urges SEC to advance or Postpone polling on April 8

The State BJP unit today appealed to the Election Commission of India not to conduct any election process and filing of nominations on April 8 on account of Sri Rama Navami festival.
State BJP leader Baddam Balreddy on Tuesday called on State Election Commissioner Ramakanth Reddy and submitted a memorandum urging him to ensure that no polling process including filing of nominations on August 8 on account of Sri Rama Navami festival as the people in the entire State will be busy in celebrating the festival.
Pointing out that the ECI issued Election Notification that that ZPTC and MPTC polling would take place in the State from April 6 to 8, the BJP leader urged the State Election Commissioner to either pre-pone or postpone the scheduled polling on April 8 on account of the festival. (NSS)
