New Delhi: Amid the political war over Delhi drinking water quality, state Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) chief Manoj Tiwari here on Tuesday launched a helpline number — 8980189801 — and urged people to file complaints if they received poor quality water from the Delhi Jal Board (DJB).
The complaints would be used to create pressure on the Arvind Kejriwal government. “You can tell us through WhatsApp or can send complaints related to dirty water to dellikapaanizehrila@gmail.com,” the BJP leader said.
Tiwari said the Kejriwal government was supplying diseases to the people with polluted water. The Delhi water quality had failed tests, he added.
The politics over the polluted water started after the central government on November 16 released a study on quality of piped drinking water being supplied in 21 cities across the country, including Delhi.
It termed the tap water supplied in Delhi as “undrinkable”.
Reacting to it, the ruling Aam Aadmi Party said the BJP-led central government was “stooping too low by doing politics on water quality after they failed miserably in controlling air pollution in northern India”.
