BJP to fight Bihar polls on global image of PM: Rajnath Singh

Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh today expressed confidence in winning the forthcoming Bihar Assembly elections with a majority, stating that the fight will “not be on caste lines”.

The upcoming election in Bihar will not be contested in the name of cast or religion. BJP will win the elections on the basis of the global image of our Prime Minister Narendra Modi, he told reporters. Singh was paying a visit to Rajya Sabha MP KC Tyagi’s residence, to condole the death of his younger brother.

The Union Minister said that the Centre has released Rs 253 crore in advance to Uttar Pradesh government for distribution among the hailstorm affected farmers but that “was not distributed honestly and properly”.

He, however, refused to comment on the Lalitgate row, involving senior leaders from his party.

On being asked about the tussle between Lieutenant Governor Nazeeb Jung and Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal, he said that both must run the government with co-ordination and mutual understanding.
