The State Unit of BJP reiterated before the Group of Ministers (GoM) its staunch commitment for a separate Telangana State with ten districts and Hyderabad as its capital.
Presenting the State BJP’s stance before the GoM, G.Kishan Reddy, state unit chief, Haribabu and Nagam Janardhan Reddy while asserting the party’s ardent support for a separate Telangana state, made it clear that it was also imperative for the central government to infuse a sense confidence among Seemandhra people by addressing to all their concerns and apprehensions.
Briefing the media after their meeting with the GoM, Kishan Reddy and other leaders said that they had demanded to know the clear stance of the Congress with regard to Telangana state formation as it was the Congress leaders who were creating animosity and bad blood among the people Telangana and Seemandhra regions with the double standards and contradictory statements.
The BJP leaders further said that they had wanted the GoM to first spell out what constitutional measures the central government was proposing to take to carve out a Telangana state. The GoM was also asked to provide the needed information with regard to revenue and assets.
Reminding that three new states were created under the BJP regime during 2001, the state party leaders failed to understand why the Congress leadership was not following such democratic and constitutional process in the formation of Telangana state.
