Telangana BJP President G. Kishan Reddy on Monday claimed that the BJP-TDP combine would win the forthcoming GHMC elections.
Addressing a press conference here, Kishan Reddy said that the BJP-TDP combine has 2 MPs and 14 MLAs in the GHMC limits and therefore, they have a strong base to win the forthcoming civic polls. He alleged that the TRS leaders were quoting fake surveys to claim that the ruling party was winning the GHMC elections. He said those fake surveys were aimed at misleading the common people.
Kishan Reddy also alleged that the TRS Government was deliberately delaying the schedule for GHMC elections. He said that Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Reddy wants to declare the schedule after the declaration of MLC election results on December 30 so as to increase its ex-officio members in the GHMC. He said that the ruling party was luring leaders of opposition parties to increase its tally of ex-officio members.
Criticising the MIM-TRS alliance, he alleged that the ruling party was funding MIM’s campaign and the charges for hoardings erected across the city were being borne by the TRS. He said the hoardings by TRS and MIM were aimed at cheating the people with fake promises.
The BJP leader also expressed concern over reports of city youth intending to join ISIS. He said so far 19 youth from Hyderabad have been prevented from joining the terrorist group. He said a special cell should be constituted to monitor such activities. He said that the police also need to intensify its vigil on social media. He also alleged that the MIM was secretly backing the terror modules in the city. (INN)
