Ahmedabad, October 25: BJP supported panel, led by BJP MLA from Shehra Jetha Bharwad, has today won the election of Panchmahal District Milk Union Ltd, popularly known as Panchamrut Dairy.
Twelve members won from Bharwad’s panel while only three mebers won from the Vikas panel which was led by former Panchmahal BJP MP Bhupendrasinh Solanki.
There are total 19 members on the dairy’s board out of which 15 are elected while three mebers are nominated by the State government.
Panchamrut dairy has over four lakh litre milk procurement per day.
The dairy election had assumed significance because two BJP leaders, MLA Jetha Bharwad and former MP Bhupendrasinh Solanki were fighting against each other but eventually BJP supported Bharwad’s panel.
Recently, BJP had lost in Baroda Dairy polls where Congress had wrested the reins from the BJP MLA Madhu Srivastav.
