Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi on Monday criticized the Congress for not cooperating in the passage of
important legislations and disrupting proceedings in the Rajya Sabha over the alleged Purti Group scam.
Naqvi alleged that the Congress, which is known for its progress and prosperity, is trying to create political intervention.
“The GST Bill is trying to curb tax terrorism, the Black Money Bill is trying to strengthen the country’s economy. In fact, any progressive act that is passed is for the benefit of the Indian society at large,”
Naqvi told ANI here.
Taking on the Congress on the issue of corruption, Naqvi further said that the BJP-led government at the Centre was ready to discuss this issue in the Parliament.
“Congress and corruption go hand in hand. When they were in power, they were running away from every issue related to corruption. Now, when they are in the opposition, they are making false allegations against us on issues of corruption. When we are ready to talk openly about it, the Congress is shying away from the matter,” he added. (ANI)
