BJP sets Monday deadline for alliance with TDP

The Bharatiya Janata Party has set Monday evening deadline for the Telugu Desam Party to react on the offer of alliance.

Speaking to media persons in a private hotel here on Sunday, Venkaiah Naidu informed that several rounds of talks have already taken place between the two parties. However, the TDP was yet to respond on the alliance offer. Stating that BJP’s national spokesperson Prakash Javedkar has spoke to the senior leaders of TDP on the seat sharing and other related issues, he said that the TDP was trying to lay conditions which were unacceptable to the BJP.

Venkaiah Naidu said that the BJP would wait for TDP’s answer till Monday evening. In case of no alliance, the BJP would contest on all 294 Assembly and 42 Lok Sabha seats in Andhra Pradesh alone. He also informed that the BJP Central Election Committee would finalise the candidates for Telangana and Seemandhra during its meeting to be held in New Delhi on Monday evening.

The BJP leader expressed confidence that the BJP would win sizeable number of seats, especially in Telangana region. He said that Telangana became a reality only due to the support of BJP. He accused the Congress party of being responsible for the suicide of over 1100 students and youth due to delay in taking decision the statehood issue. He said that the Congress party was primary responsible for the suicides and uncertainty in the region which shattered the economy.

Venkaiah Naidu also claimed that the BJP would win at least 300 Lok Sabha seats in the next elections and Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi would become the Prime Minister of India. (INN)
