BJP seeks apology from German embassy

New Delhi, April 13: The BJP has demanded an apology from the German embassy, after a delegation of three MPs from the country, supported by a Catholic non government organisation, visited Gujarat last week (apparently “to study the condition of minorities in the state”) and described CM Narendra Modi as “dictatorial”.

A BJP team, led by party vice-president Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi, on Monday met German embassy officials, demanding an apology for the statements made by the German delegation. The BJP’s argument is that any foreign delegation “has no business to make comments like these” and since “it involved a constitutionally elected CM of an Indian state, the Centre must step in”.
