Rubbishing the statement made by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on his return from Tehran after attending the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) Summit earlier in the day saying he would not quit office, the BJP reiterated the Dr Singh should resign owning moral responsibility for ‘loss,’according to the CAG, in the allotment of coal blocks. Addressing a press conference here this evening, BJP National General Secretary Ananth Kumar said all coal blocks allocated illegally without following any process, auction or transparency be cancelled forthwith. He demanded an investigation by a sitting Judge of the Supreme Court in to the ‘Rs 1.86 lakh crore coal scam’ and said the judicial investigation should be impartial and fair.
