Patna, Oct. 1 : Hitting out at Lalu Prasad Yadav for his comments on Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) president Amit Shah, Finance Minister Arun Jaitley on Thursday accused the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) chief of preparing a false report on the Godhra train burning incident when he was the railway minister.
“When Lalu Yadav was the Railway minister, he had set up a fake enquiry committee, which gave a fabricated report that the train in which the swayamsevaks were travelling was burnt by Karsevaks, which saved the real culprits,” Jaitley told reporters here.
“This has never happened in our country that a train is burnt and the railway minister gets a fabricated report prepared,” he added.
Lalu had earlier described Amit Shah as a man-eater (Narbhakshhi).
“The verdict on Amit Shah came during the UPA rule when the Gujarat High Court had said “prima facie it was a case of no evidence and gave the bail to Shah,” Jaitley said.
Jaitley also said it would be better if Lalu uses that term (man-eater) for himself.
“It’s time to end the jungle raj…JD(U) is in alliance with those it once blamed for jungle raj in Bihar,” Jaitley said.
Jaitley made these comments while launching the BJP’s vision document for the Bihar Assembly elections, offering several promises if the party come to power.
Riding on the ambitious policies of Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led government at the Centre, the BJP vowed to initiate campaigns like ‘Make in Bihar’ and ‘Digital Bihar’ if the party wins the elections. (ANI)
