Addressing the inaugural session of a three-day state plenum of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) in Palakkad, Kerala, on Wednesday, General Secretary Prakash Karat accused the BJP and the RSS of creating tension and sparking off communal violence in the country in a bid to create communal polarisation, with the express objective of acquiring electoral gains.
Karat felt the unprecedented support enjoyed by Narendra Modi, the BJP’s prime ministerial candidate from big corporate houses, suggested that the right-wing outfit could hand out largesse to the latter if and when it comes to power.
He also also accused the UPA Government of being under Washington’s pressure with regard to foreign policy. (ANI)
