Alleging that the RSS was behind yesterday’s attack on yoga guru Baba Ramdev, Congress General Secretary Digvijay Singh today said the NGO activist who carried out the attack had links with the BJP.
An NGO activist Kamran Siddiqui threw ink at Ramdev during a press conference here yesterday afternoon when yoga guru refused to answer a question on the Batla House encounter.
Terming the attack on the yoga guru as a ‘dirty trick’ of the Bharatiya Janata Party, Mr Singh, addressing reporters here, said, “this is a conspiracy hatched by the BJP. Their dirty tricks department has planned
the entire thing. I have seen the visuals of the person who threw ink at Baba Ramdev. It seems there is politics behind it.”
“A man comes and splashes ink on Baba Ramdev, but there is no reaction from him. It stands proven that Kamran Siddiqui became a member of the BJP,” Mr Singh added.
He further claimed that the accused in the attack, who runs an NGO ‘Real Cause’ had worked under Rajnath Singh, a senior BJP leader.
He is an “anti-Congress” from the very beginning and had opposed our candidate Pervej Hashmi in elections.
He spoke ill about the Congress party everyday.
He made offensive comments about Ms Sonia Gandhi. And now, it is proven that to save the deteriorating image of BJP and Baba Ramdev this entire incident has been orchestrated,” Mr Singh said.
He called for a probe on how much fund his NGO got from various government departments during NDA rule.
