Hyderabad, November 11:Stating that acquisition of the assigned lands whether by the people of Coastal Andhra or of any part of the country was illegal, the state Bharatiya Janata Party has stated that the process of taking back such lands should be as per law of the land. But the Telangana Rashtra Samithi leaders targeting the Coastal Andhra people and intimidating them was totally condemnable.
The BJP, in a press release here on Tuesday, pointed out that the objectionable language being used by Mr K Chandrasekhar Rao or his slogan “Andhrawale Bhaago” (people of Andhra run away) was unnecessarily whipping up tensions and creating a fear psychosis among the people. Besides, there was the danger of eruption of violent reactions in the two regions, it felt.
The BJP pointed out that there was a lot of change between 1969 Telangana agitation and now as lakhs of people from the Andhra and Rayalaseema regions settled in Telangana and most of them did not depend on government jobs. Similarly, many people of Telangana region migrated to Coastal districts and thriving on various businesses. Besides a large number of Telangana students were studying Engineering and Medicine and taking EAMCET coaching in the educational institutions in the coastal areas.
The BJP also condemned the actions and utterances of the TRS leaders who were trying to whip up regional feelings among the peace-loving people of both the regions. The BJP felt that separate Telangana could be achieved by peaceful and political means, but not by arousing regional passions. (NSS)
