Cooch Behar(WB), March 04: BJP today release names of 100 candidates for the West Bengal Assembly polls and said it was in talks with several political parties including GJM and GCDP to build an alliance.
“The names of first batch of candidates will be released on 20 March. Already names of 50 candidates have been selected and the campaigning for the same have started,” party state president Rahul Sinha said.
He said the party has been in talks with several political parties including GJM and GCDP to build an alliance.
The proposed BJP-led alliance would fight in all seats in the assembly polls, he said.
Welcoming the EC?s decision to hold the polls in six phases in this state starting April 18, Sinha demanded curb on using state police force and railway police force to ensure an impartial and peaceful election.
