Telangana BJP President G. Kishan Reddy strongly condemned the silence adopted by the TRS leaders over the demand for official celebration of Hyderabad Liberation Day on September 17.
Speaking to media persons here on Thursday, Kishan Reddy said that the BJP would celebrate the occasion from the village to State level. Further, he said dharnas would be organised at all District Collectorates in protest against non-celebration of the event at the official level. The BJP Mahila Morcha workers would present “Rakhis” to TRS Ministers, MPs, MLAs and other leaders for their silence on the issue.
Kishan Reddy pointed out the Hyderabad Liberation Day is celebrated officials in some districts of Karnataka and Maharashtra, which were part of erstwhile Hyderabad State. He said it was unfortunate that the event was not being celebrated officials in Hyderabad city, which was also the capital of erstwhile State. He alleged that the TRS was maintaining silence over the issue due to its alliance with the Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen. (INN)
