BJP raps KCR for squandering public money

BJP spokesperson Krishna Saagar Rao has criticized Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao for spending over Rs 100 crores on the construction of MLA camp offices across the State. “The BJP considers it as criminal waste of public money”, he added.

In a media statement here on Wednesday, Krishna Saagar Rao said the TRS government has been totally disregarding accountability in spending tax payers money for personal comforts of MLAs and satiating their luxuries in the name administrative infrastructure. “The TRS Government has not moved an inch to fulfill the poll promises made in its election manifesto on giving poor people a double bed room house so far, but the Chief Minister built a second official home for himself at a cost of Rs 100 crore and also building second homes for the MLAs across the State with another Rs 100 crores. The TRS would certainly pay a heavy price for squandering public money and making mockery of electoral promises they have made to the people of Telangana, the BJP leader said.

Krishna Saagar Rao said the KCR government was setting a bad precedent in the entire country by splurging public money indiscriminately outside the framework of public good and violating the regulations of the Constitution time and again. While the 50% of the third installment for farmers loan waiver was still due for over one year, the TRS government was showcasing its cruel apathy towards the poor and needy by its wasteful expenditure of public money on luxuries for MLAs, he added. He pointed out that KCR has already led the State into a debt trap of over Rs 1.5 lakh crores in just two-and-a-half years of his misgovernance. If he continues this path of wasting tax payers money, Telangana State will be a financially bankrupt State in the country sooner than later, he added.

“The BJP strongly objects to this irresponsible and unaccountable behaviour of CM KCR and his government, and demands the Farmer Loan Waiver dues be paid immediately”, he added. (NSS)
