Telangana BJP president G Kishan Reddy has said celebrating Telangana Liberation Day on September 17 will be a true tribute to Telangana armed struggle martyrs.
Addressing party protestors at Hanamkonda on Monday, the State BJP president questioned why the TRS was not evincing interest to celebrate September 17 as Telangana Liberation Day officially when it wrested power in the State on the Telangana sentiment. The BJP unit of Hanamkonda today staged a dharna demanding that the State government celebrate Telangana Liberation Day on September 17 officially. A large number of party workers attended the program.
After paying tributes at martyrs memorial at Hanamakonda, the BJP leaders went in a procession to the Collectorate demanding that the State government celebrate Telangana Liberation Day on September 17 officially. On reaching the Collectorate, the police personnel stopped them and arrested Kishan Reddy and others and shifted them to a nearlyby police station. (NSS)
