Telangana State BJP leaders, including G Kishan Reddy, Ch Ramachandra Reddy, Nagam Janardhan Reddy, K Pushpa Leela and others today staged a protest against the TRS Government for failing to use Central funds towards farmers welfare.
Kishan Reddy submitted a memorandum to Chief Secretary Rajiv Sharma urging him to make use of Rs 899 cr funds released by the Centre towards farmers input subsidy relief. Later they squatted at the C Block and shouted slogans against the government for not using the funds. The police arrested the BJP leaders for the protests.
Earlier, the BJP leaders sought to know as to why Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao was not taking steps for the farmers’ welfare. Though the Chief Minister was making tall promises, no suitable steps have been taken so far for the farmers they fumed. The government should respond on their demand and release funds towards loan waiver as promised, Kishan Reddy said.
Besides party floor leader G Kishan Reddy, Khairtabad MLA Chintala Ramachandra Reddy, NVSS Prabhakar, MLC Ramachander Rao, former MLAs Baddam Balreddy , Nagam Janardhan Reddy also participated in the dharna. (NSS)
