Hyderabad, November 15:Skyways, LED control signal system, parallel roads, tax regulation, perfect drainage, comprehensive slum development, a slumless Hyderabad, health and hygiene facilities and protected drinking water were some of the promises made by the BJP in its GHMC elections manifesto.
Making modifications to its four draft election manifestos, which were released earlier, the BJP State unit on Sunday released the final elections manifesto. The party undertook a two-moth exercise to frame the manifesto in tune with the pulse of Hyderabad voters.
The saffron party assured that it would see that 50 percent of the property tax collected to be spent in the same division from where it was collected, if it voted to victory in GHMC elections. It also assured that prices of eatables sold in eateries and restaurants in malls should be not exceeded an upper limit to b decided by the GHMC.
The party also promised clear demarcation between residential and commercial properties that would ensure better planning of colonies thus reducing the traffic, pollution and accidents in the residential areas.
It also assured to set up Disaster Management System in GHMC that would contain a set of processes and systems to deal with critical situations at times of floods, earthquakes, terrorist attacks, fires and epidemics.
It would also take measures to set up skywalks parallel to the roads for easing pedestrian commute at areas, where there was serve traffic congestion problem.
It also promised to ease the traffic problem with grade separators, better parking management, traffic regulation through traffic guards and parallel roads.
The BJP also vowed to take up second phase of MMTS to cover Medchal, Bibinagar, Shamshabad, Patanchru and Shankerpally. It also made an attempt to attract the voters by promising supply of safe drinking water on daily basis to every household, apartment, slum and colony.
The party also promised to make the Hyderabad a slumless and no plastic city. It also assured bringing the Hyderabad Metro Water Works and Sewerage Board (HMWWSB) under the control of GHMC. (NSS)
