Hyderabad: The BJP in Telangana today said it is preparing an action plan with the aim of winning the 2019 Legislative Assembly and Lok Sabha elections in the TRS-ruled state.
“The roadmap we are preparing with the aim of winning the 2019 elections; Roadmap (is) on taking forward the party organisation from October, till elections are held in 2019, as per (BJP president) Amit Shah’s call,” state party president K Laxman told reporters here.
The roadmap includes taking the policies of the Modi government to the voters, fighting against the alleged anti- people policies of the TRS government in Telangana and reaching out to different sections of the society, he said.
“We are formulating this roadmap with a clear plan for different cells of the party from October,” he said.
September would be important as Shah visits the state during the month and also because the party annually takes up a campaign for the state government to officially celebrate ‘Telangana Liberation Day’ on September 17, he said.
The erstwhile Hyderabad under Nizam rule merged with Indian Union on September 17, 1948.
The ruling TRS had supported the demand in undivided Andhra Pradesh, but the state government is not celebrating the occasion now under pressure from MIM, Laxman alleged.
The BJP would organise polling booth-wise conventions of party workers from October by classifying assembly segments, he said.
The BJP’s central leaders have participated in various programmes in Telangana in the last couple of months and they have appreciated the party’s growing strength in the state, Laxman added.
