BJP predicts President’s Rule after by-polls

Bharatiya Janata Party national secretary Dr K Laxman on Wednesday predicted that the Centre would impose President’s Rule in the State after the declaration of by-election results.

Talking to media persons at party office at Nampally, Dr Laxman said that the ruling Congress party would bite the dust in ensuing by-elections and the Centre would impose President’s Rule in the State to prevent political uncertainty after the by-elections. Stating that two major parties – Telugu Desam and Congress would suffer a humiliating defeat in the by-elections, he said that the people of State would vote for change in the by-elections.

Dr Laxman said that the Telangana Rashtra Samithi, which was formed with the sole agenda of achieving statehood for Telangana region, has lost people’s confidence due to selfish interests of its president K Chandrasekhar Rao. He appealed to Telangana Political Joint Action Committee to play ‘neutral’ role without supporting any party in the ensuing by-elections.

He said that the BJP would go for election campaign in Parkal with the slogan of ‘Palamuru to Parkal, Parkal to Parliament’. He said that Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Sushma Swaraj and senior leader Prakash Javedkar would participate in the by-election campaign in Parkal seat. He expressed confidence that the BJP would emerge victorious in the Parkal seat.
