BJP pledges support to Lokpal Bill

New Delhi, April 08: Welcoming the efforts made by anti-corruption crusader Anna Hazare, BJP today pledged its support to the Lokpal Bill once it is introduced in the Monsoon Session of Parliament.

“We will support that (Lokpal) Bill (during the Monsoon session)… BJP wants a corruption-free India and we welcome the efforts put in by him (Anna Hazare)”, BJP president Nitin Gadkari said after addressing a CII seminar here.

Asked whether Hazare had taken the sheen away from the BJP, he said, “I don’t feel like that, I don’t look at it with a political viewpoint. Our party’s policy is to appreciate the good work done by any one.”

On the issue of electoral reforms, Gadkari said, “We have appointed a committee headed by (L K) Advani, we are studying the electoral systems of different states and countries.
