Defence Minister Manohar Parikkar claimed that the Bharatiya Janata Party was not very far from power in Telangana State.
Addressing a meeting of BJP workers here on Saturday, Parikkar said that the BJP already has a vote bank of nearly 14% in Telangana State. He said when BJP could come to power in Goa where it had just 0.4% vote share, it was not a difficult task for the party to gain power in Telangana in next general elections.
Parikkkar has strongly criticised TRS Government and alleged Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao was not running the government as per the Constitution. He said although people have made several sacrifices to achieve statehood for Telangana, the new State is being run only by KCR family. He said people were being misled by KCR in the name of Vaastu.
The Defence Minister said that the BJP-led NDA Government has been helping Telangana in several ways. However, the TRS Government has failed to utilise Central funds and it has been wrongly targeting the Central Government. He said that the BJP would play the role of a constructive opposition and would strive hard to come to power in next elections. (INN)
