BJP never made extra demand, agenda of alliance is still same: Jitendra Singh

New Delhi: Asserting that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has never made any extra demand from the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) for the government formation in Jammu and Kashmir, Minister of State in Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) Jitendra Singh on Thursday said that their agenda of alliance is still the same.

“A meeting has been called. We will take a decision after the meeting of the MLAs tomorrow. The BJP follows internal democratic values. It has never made any extra demand. Agenda of Alliance that was formed is still the same,” Singh told ANI.

The PDP MLAs earlier today unanimously elected party chief Mehbooba Mufti as the legislature party leader.

Speaking at the PDP meeting, Mehbooba thanked the party workers for extending their support to her and for backing her during testing times.

The BJP had earlier said that it was committed to the implementation of already agreed agenda of alliance.

Jammu and Kashmir Governor N.N. Vohra has called separate meetings with the PDP chief and BJP state president Sat Sharma tomorrow.

Jammu and Kashmir was placed under the Governor’s rule on January 8 after chief minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed’s death on January 7. (ANI)
