Hyderabad: BJP senoir leader and MLC N. Ramchander Rao said that the Bhartiya Janata Party has never questioned or doubted the patriotism of Indian Muslims.
Addressing a round table conference on national integration organised by party’s Minority Morcha here on Saturday, Ramchander Rao said Indian Muslim never indulged in anti-national activities. However, he said there were some extremist elements who tried to defame the entire community. He said entire Muslim community has been actively participating in the development of nation. He blamed the Congress party and its Vice-President Rahul Gandhi for the unrest in Hyderabad Central University and Jawaharlal Nehru University. He alleged that the Congress and Left parties were indirectly supporting terrorism.
Ramchander Rao said that the BJP was not fighting against the Pakistani people, but against their government which is encouraging terror activities against India. He said that the BJP aims to wage a war against poverty and other forces which are trying to destabilise the country.
Telangana BJP Vice-President and ex-MLA Baddam Bal Reddy said it was wrong to view entire Muslim community with suspicion for some acts of terror committed by a few misguided men. He accused the Congress party of treating the Muslims as vote bank and appealed to the community to understand the difference between its friends and enemies. He said that the BJP wants to take along everyone, irrespective of their caste or religion, to turn India into a strong nation.
The conference, presided by Minority Morcha President Syed Haneef Ali, was also addressed by former member of State Minorities Commission Syed Tariq Quadri, Hyderabad Union of Journalist Vice-President Taher Rumani, social acvist Awadh Abdullah Al-Amri @Urooj Ali and other leaders. (INN)
