BJP MP is hold accountable for the crisis: Moradabad Police

On Saturday, the Moradabad district police and administration point the finger at Moradabad BJP MP Sarvesh Singh for the violence that took place in the Kanth town on Friday.

According to senior Superintendent of Police Moradabad Dharamvir Sinha, “There was no problem between the two communities of the village and as by- elections are to be held at the Thakurdwara seat (from where Singh was the MLA), he tried to instigate people for his personal gains.”

Trouble took place in Kanth locality on July 4 when the police impeded BJP leaders and workers to hold a Mahapanchayat following which violent conflict took place between the police and a mob.

Sinha also stated that the residents of Kanth town were not involved in the clashes.

“People were brought from outside and a large number of people reached Kanth railway station from Bijnore and Amroha by train. They attacked the policemen on the railway station following which we resorted to lathicharge and also used tear gas shells and rubber bullets to control the mob,” Sinha said.

The district magistrate of Moradabad Chandrakant received severe injury in his left eye and doctors said he may lose his sight.

“He was first rushed to a hospital in Moradabad from where he was referred to New Delhi. However the doctors have referred him to Shanker Netralaya Chennai for further treatment,” Sinha said.

Singh nonsense the claims of the police and blamed it for playing with the sentiment of the Hindus.
