New Delhi, May 21: Former Madhya Pradesh Revenue Minister and BJP MLA Kamal Patel has been arrested by CBI here for allegedly destroying evidence related to a murder case in which his son’s name figured, CBI officials said on Friday.
Mr. Patel, an MLA from Harda constituency, was questioned by CBI after which he was arrested on Thursday night, they said.
He will be produced in the CBI court at Indore where he will file his bail application.
On March 5, 2008, Mr. Patel’s son Sudeep had gone with his friends to a farm house belonging to Congress leader Rajendra Patel at Deotalao where an altercation took place leaving one Durgesh Jaat dead.
Mr. Sudeep was later arrested and released on bail.
