Telangana BJP Minority Morcha president Md Haneef Ali on Sunday demanded probe against the alleged irregularities conducted by Mohammed Miyan, the Vice-Chancellor of Moulana Azad National Urdu University (MANUU).
Addressing a press conference here, Haneef Ali informed that he has written a letter to Union HRD Minister Smriti Irani and MANUU Chancellor Zafar Sareshwala seeking probe into all the decisions taken by Mohammed Miyan since 2010. He alleged that several non-Urdu speaking people were hired and there were several irregularities in the transfers and promotions. He also condemned the appointment of Khaja Shahedullah as the Pro-VC. He demanded White Paper into the foreign tours undertaken by the MANUU VC.
The BJP leader accused the MANUU VC of playing with the lives and careers of hundreds of students and said that the Polytechnics started by MANUU in Hyderabad, Darbhanga and Bangalore were not approved by the National Council for Technical Education. Similarly, he said the illegal appointments done by the VC has put additional burden of Rs 1 crore on the university.
Haneef Ali also alleged that Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao was not serious about the protection of Wakf properties in the State. He sought to know the status of decisions taken by the then Special Officer Shaik Mohammed Iqbal. (INN)
