BJP minority cell leader Jamila Khan shot dead in her house

Bhopal: A leader of the BJP’s minority cell was allegedly shot dead at her residence, police said.

“Jameela Bi (50) was shot at, apparently by unidentified person (s), when she was at her residence in Indira Sahayta Nagar,” said Gautam Nagar police station in-charge, Mukhtar Qureshi.

Her son spotted her lying with blood oozing from her shoulder, the officer said, adding that Jameela was rushed to hospital where doctors declared her brought dead.

Surprisingly, no one in the house heard sound of the gun shot, the officer said, adding the motive behind the murder is not known immediately.

“Jamila Khan was with her son on Wednesday afternoon at her residence. In the meantime, her son from inside the house heard the loud bang of gunfire and he rushed outside. He saw her mother in an injured condition.

He immediately rushed her to Apex Hospital and informed the police. She was declared brought dead. She was taken to Hamidia Hospital where it was clear that she had sustained bullet injuries. Vital organs were damaged by the bullet.

The body was sent for the postmortem. Initial clues shows that personal enmity might be the reason behind the murder,” Qureshi said, adding that further investigation is on.
