BJP legislators held protest at CMO’s entrance

Legislators of Bharatiya Janata Party were taken into custody when they held protest at the entrance of office of Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao in C-Block of Secretariat here on Tuesday.

The legislators, led by Telangana BJP unit president G Kishan Reddy and floor leader Dr K Lakshman, arrived at the State Secretariat to meet the Chief Minister. They claimed that they had an appointment at 11 AM to meet the CM. However, KCR was not present in the office when the BJP legislators arrived at the designated time. Angered by this, the BJP legislators staged a sit-in protest at the CMO’s entrance.

Kishan Reddy alleged that the MLAs from the twin cities were not being involved in the Swachh Hyderabad campaign being launched by the Telangana Government from 16th to 20th May. He said that the elected representatives of Hyderabad were not being given due importance by the State Government. He said that the BJP legislators wanted to the meet KCR to discuss the issue. However, the Chief Minister did not come to the office only to avoid the meeting, he alleged.

Later, the Hyderabad Police took Kishan Reddy, Lakshman, NVSS Prabhakar, Raja Singh and MLC Ramchandra Rao into the custody and shifted them to a nearby police station. (INN)
