BJP-led NDA will win over 300 seats: Javedkar

BJP National Spokesperson Prakash Javedkar on Monday claimed that the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance would win more than 300 seats in the ensuing elections.

Addressing a press conference here, Javedkar said that the increase of polling percentage in 232 seats that already went to polls was a clear indication that people have voted for a change. As against the average polling of nearly 60% in previous elections, the percentage was nearly 70% this time. This phenomenal increase is a proof that people want to replace the Congress Government which was responsible for inflation, corruption and misadministration, he said.

Javedkar said that the BJP and its allies would win at least 58 out of 129 seats in four southern States. While BJP-TDP alliance will sweep the polls in Andhra Pradesh, the five-party alliance in Tamil Nadu will win a majority of seats in Tamil Nadu. Similarly, the BJP would do a repeat of 2009 in Karnataka and its performance will improve in Kerela too.

The BJP leader expressed confidence that TDP-BJP combine would form the next government in Andhra Pradesh and it would emerge as a major power in Telangana. He said the Congress, TRS and YSRCP are worried over the growing the popularity of BJP-TDP in both the regions.

When asked about the possibilities of Telangana Rashtra Samithi joining the NDA after elections, he said it was too premature to speak about such an issue. However, he also ruled TRS joining the Third Front on the grounds that all constituents of Third Front were against the Telangana formation. (INN)
