Raipur: A local BJP leader’s son is among the the three accused of allegedly gangraping a 36-year-old married woman in Chhattisgarh’s Mahasamund district.
Two of the three accused have been arrested on the basis of the woman’s complaint.
The three youths, identified as Devendra (23), Farid Ali (25) and Prince Saluja (23).
Princely Saluja, the son of local BJP leader Jasbir Singh who was absconding for hours has been arrested later.
The three allegedly thrashed her and inserted a rod in her private parts when she resisted their advances. They also filmed her, threatening to upload the clip online if she went to the police.
“The incident took place on October 11 at Pirda village under Basna police station limits when the victim arrived at her paternal place during Dussehra festival,” Basna SHO Narendra Yadav told.
“On the night of October 11, the victim and her sister had stepped out of their home to relieve themselves. The three men had been waiting for them and had forced the victim inside their vehicle. They took her to a secluded spot and allegedly raped her,” a senior police officer told the Indian Express.
The vehicle, which belongs to Saluja was seized and a case of gangrape and criminal intimidation under relevant sections of the IPC were booked against the three.
