New Delhi, January 05: A delegation of senior BJP leaders will meet President Pratibha Patil on Thursday to register the party’s protest against the Lokpal Bill fiasco in Parliament.
A decision in this regard was taken recently during the meeting of BJP’s core group, which took place a day after the Rajya Sabha was adjourned sine die without putting to vote the Bill for an anti-graft ombudsman.
The main opposition party also announced to launch a week-long nationwide agitation against the Congress.
The high-level party delegation, which will meet the President, will be led by senior leader LK Advani and party president Nitin Gadkari.
BJP has already begun a “save democracy, remove Congress” campaign throughout the country from January 3 to 10.
Hailing the midnight drama in Rajya Sabha as the “murder of democracy by the UPA government”, BJP alleged the UPA government ran away from vote since it lacked adequate majority in the Upper House.
