BJP leader Naqvi says Congress should introspect instead of making allegations against Irani

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Mukhthar Abbas Naqvi has called on the Congress Party to be less arrogant and avoid making personal comments against government ministers and party leaders, and spend more time introspecting on its current political status post-elections.

He said “The Congress should introspect about their defeat instead of making baseless allegations against Smriti Irani and the HRD Ministry. They should also respect the people’s mandate and desist from making unwarranted statements after such a crushing defeat in the general elections. The Congress has been reduced to shambles as a result of the loss.”

He was reacting to Congress leader Ajay Maken’s critical tweets that questioned Irani’s right to be the country’s new HRD minister given her poor and incomplete educational qualifications, which had been submitted to the Election Commission of India, when she had filed her nomination to contest this year’s general elections from the Amethi constituency.

Irani was made a minister despite her losing the elections to Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi.

Maken had also questioned the Modi Government’s decision not to appoint a defence minister, but to give joint charge of finance and defence to Arun Jaitley. He also questioned the government as to why ten states and six union territories had gone unrepresented in the union cabinet.

Naqvi said “It is quite natural for the Congress to be despondent after the BJP’s stunning poll victory under Narendra Modi’s leadership and the BJP does not decry that.”

He added “10 years of Congress’ misrule has left the country in tatters and the BJP is now trying to retrieve the situation and bring the country back on track under Modi’s able guidance and administration.”(ANI)
