BJP leader demands repolling of Kondla village

Local BJP leader Vijay Sud has demanded repolling in village Kondla near Nasra, in Hoshiarpur state assembly constituency. He approached Election Commission, Punjab, with a plea that the votes of this village had wrongly been polled for Chabbewal Vidhan Sabha segment. Talking to this correspondent, Vijay Sud, who was polling agent of BJP candidate at Kondla, said that he had raised the issue before Returning Officer for Hoshiarpur Vidhan Sabha seat, but he did not take any action in this matter and later he complained to the Election Commission, Punjab. On account of improper accommodation, the electorate of this hamlet had to cast their votes in some other village falling in Hoshiarpur state assembly segment. But this time the polling station for this segment had wrongly been set up in Chabbewal Vidhan Sabha segment instead of Hoshiarpur. Dipinder Singh, District Electoral Officer cum Deputy Commissioner, Hoshiarpur, told that a report regarding the demand of repolling of village Kondla alongwith facts had been sent to Chief Electoral Officer, Punjab. As soon as her decision is received action would be taken accordingly.
