Hyderabad: Hailing the Kalyana Laxmi and Shaadi Mubharak schemes introduced by the TRS government, BJPLP leader Dr K Laxman urged Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao to extend the Kalyana Laxmi scheme to the BCs and also more such schemes for the sake of poor.
Speaking on the Governor’s speech on Saturday in the Legislative Assembly, Laxman asked the government to strive for the growth of literacy rate in the State. The government has to increase the facilities in the government schools, he said praising the government for introducing the fine rice in government hostels. He said that the government has the responsibility to prevent misuse of fine rice being supplied to the Social Welfare hostels.
Demanding that the TRS government prevent suicides by farmers, Laxman asked the government to tell as to what steps it was initiating to stop the suicides. Stating that some 1,200 farmers had committed suicides in the State, he asked the government to waive the remaining 50 percent loans of farmers in the Kharif season. He said delay was taking place in setting up BC Commission. (NSS)
