BJP to launch ‘Telangana Bharosa Yatra’ on April 16

The differences between the Telangana Political Joint Action Committee and the Bharatiya Janata Party widened further with the latter deciding to launch its own bus yatra to counter JAC’s similar yatra.

BJP State president G Kishan Reddy on Thursday released a poster of 10-day Telangana Bharosa Yatra to be launched on April 16. The Yatra will start from Mahabubnagar and would conclude in Warangal on April 26.

Talking to media persons at the programme, party Yuva Morcha state president Dr K Venkateswarlu called upon students not to end their precious lives for the cause of Telangana statehood. He said that most of the students have ending their lives as they were disappointed due to attitude of the Centre in delaying the decision on statehood issue in the name of consultation process with all the stakeholders.

Venkateswarlu said that the ‘Telangana Bharosa Yatra’ would increase self-confidence among students and Telangana activists over the bifurcation of State issue and boost their morale over the agitation. Stating that 862 students have committed suicide so far for the cause of Telangana, he appealed to the youth not to lose their hopes.

If the Congress leaders fail to achieve Telangana by 2014, he said that BJP would pass a bill on Telangana in the Parliament if it comes to power at the Centre.

Venkateshwarulu said that party’s national leaders have been invited for the Bharosa yatra.

The BJP’s Bharosa yatra assumes importance in the wake of JAC’s bus yatra to ‘expose’ the stand of the Congress and TDP on Telangana state.

Sources say that the BJP wants to strengthen its party rank and file in the name of Bharosa Yatra after the success of Kishan Reddy’s Telangana Poru yatra in the Telangana districts. (INN)
