Hyderabad, July 04: Charging the Congress party with lack of sincerity on Telangana issue, former Union minister and BJP national executive member Mr Bandaru Dattatreya exuded confidence that the PCC chief Mr D Srinivas would lose the by-election from Nizamabad urban constituency 100 percent. He said, Mr Srinivas was talking about Telangana just because of the by-elections but not because he was sincere about the cause. He said people will cast their vote against the TDP and Congress, and these by-elections would be a fitting lesson for the both the parties.
Addressing a gathering on the occasion of merger of the Telangana Kranthi Sena and Telangana Kisan Sangh in BJP here on Saturday, Mr Dattatreya lashed out at the PCC chief saying he was an opportunist to the core, and he has not sincere towards Telangana. Criticising Mr Srinivas, Dattatreya said that he was talking on Telangana now as he was scared that Nizamabad people will not allow him even for ‘Padayatra’ in the by-election campaign. He also said that Mr Srinivas was contesting the by-elections only to save Nizamabad Urban seat for his sons in near future.
Charging the Chief Minister Mr K Rosaiah with inability to take decisions, the BJP senior leader said that Mr Rosaiah would lose his post after the by-elections. He said that the state was facing uncertain situation after the demise of former Chief Minister late YS Rajashekar Reddy. He said, Mr Rosaiah, though he had vast experience, was not taking any decision on his own and hence the state was stagnated in development due to political uncertainty. “The Cabinet too was expressing difference of opinion due to this uncertainty”, he said.
Lambasting at the TDP, Mr Dattatreya said that Mr Chandrababu Naidu was not clear on Telangana. He said, “TDP too is facing the situation of uncertainty due lack of clarity on various issues.” He said the Prajarajyam too was facing the same situation like TDP and it was in a dilemma whether to merge in Congress or not, though it had already joined hands with the Congress party.
Slamming the Congress and TDP, Mr Dattatreya said that both the parties would learn a fitting lesson in the by-elections. He said the people of Telangana were eagerly waiting for by-elections to teach the fitting lesson to the both Congress and TDP.
Terming the by-elections as a prestige issue for the BJP, Mr Dattatreya said that the BJP had clarity on Telangana issue unlike other parties in the state. He said the party had clarity not only on Telangana issue but also on BCs and price hike. He said that the Rosaiah government bowed down and released fee reimbursement arrears immediately after the BJP president Mr G Kishan Reddy’s fast unto death. He said BJP would retain its Nizamabad Urban seat easily and added that these by-elections were not a referendum on Telangana any more because people had already given their verdict on Telangana issue.
