New Delhi: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Thursday issued second showcause notice to suspended MP Kirti Azad.
The BJP in its notice has asked the Darbhanga MP as to why should he not be expelled from the party.
Azad, who was expelled from the BJP over his tirade against Finance Minister Arun Jaitley in connection with irregularities in the Delhi and District Cricket Association (DDCA), on Thursday sought Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s intervene into the matter.
He said he would seek a court-monitored probe into the alleged DDCA irregularities.
Speaking to reporters here, Azad said he would file a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) in his personal capacity on the DDCA issue, and warned that people “will be in trouble”.
A day after his suspension, defiant Azad maintained that his fight was only against “corruption” in the DDCA and not against any individual.
He asked for “specific reasons” for the disciplinary action against him by the party. (ANI)
