Dehradun, May 05: The ruling BJP in Uttarakhand today issued a notice to its leader Ratan Singh Gunsola in the face of allegations that he paid Rs one crore to the party to bag hydro-electric projects even as the Chief Minister said the final allotment of 56 such ventures was yet to be made. State BJP head Bishan Singh Chufal issued the show cause notice to Gunsola who created a flutter when he claimed he had paid Rs one crore to the party to bag the projects.
A notice had been issued to Gunsola who had been told to reply within a week, Uttarakhand BJP general secretary Suresh Joshi told reporters here. The final allotment of 56 hydro-electric projects under the self-identifed scheme was yet to be made, Chief Minister R P Nishank said.
“We have not made allotment for even 0.5 MW hydel project. The final allotment is yet to be made with regard to such projects,” he said.
Nishank said 56 hydel projects were shotlisted early this year by a high-powered screening committee to develop 960 MWs of power. A Committee, headed by the Power Secretary, had been set up to make the final allotment, he said.
