BJP State president Dr K Laxman has said his party played a pivotal role in the creation of separate Telangana State.
Participating in “Meet-the-Press” program at Press Club here on Friday, Laxman said his party raised Telangana voice though it had no members in Parliament. But Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao was giving priority to those opposed Telangana seriously, he lamented. He said separate Telangana State was formed on the foundations of martyrs’ sacrifices. The TRS government has utterly failed to fulfill its assurances made during the elections, he alleged. Importance to non-locals and corruption increased in TRS government, he said.
Earlier, hoisting the national flag at BJP office on the occasion of State Formation Day, Laxman alleged that the KCR government encouraged party defections. “The TRS government was diverting the Central funds towards other schemes and filling pockets of contractors in the name of projects redesigning. At the same time, the TRS government sent distressed farmers to jail by handcuffing them when they demanded minimum support price.
BJLP leader G Kishan Reddy, MLC Ramchander Rao and several State leaders were present. (NSS)
