Lucknow, May 13: An inquiry by Uttar Pradesh BJP unit revealed bogus enrolments here after the scrutiny of forms filled in the names of prominent leaders aroused suspicion of the functionaries.
It was detected that names of prominent political leaders like Sonia, Mayawati, Manmohan and Rahul figured in the list as party members from from Ghaziuddin Haider canal locality of the state capital, party sources said.
Even Hema Malini and Varun were mentioned in the list as members from Lucknow after the recently concluded membership campaign.
Taking serious note of the issue, an internal inquiry was ordered. They said that when enrolments forms were minutely screened it was found that important details like address and contact number were not mentioned in these forms.
The inquiry found that these forms were filled in bogus names.
