BJP hits back at Sonia Gandhi for her remark on insecurity of minority communities

Countering Congress president Sonia Gandhi’s statement on the alleged insecurity of minority communities, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Sunday said that there was no minority or majority because every community is essentially Indian.

“These people have not only made the minority insecure, but the majority insecure too. Congress never worked for leading a cohesive government for working for the poor of this country, they looted and indulged in all kinds of corrupt practices. They are trying to break India into various segments and groups,” BJP spokesperson Meenakshi Lekhi told ANI.

“People should stop thinking like a minority or majority. I think everybody should think like an Indian and take the country forward,” she added. On Saturday, Sonia Gandhi, while referring to the Prime Minister-led NDA government, said that the dissent in the country is being stifled and the minorities are feeling increasingly insecure.
