BJP govt will initiate action on Lokayukta report on mining: CM

Bangalore, July 25: Karnataka Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa today said the BJP government will initiate suitable action based on the second and final report on illegal mining by Lokayukta Justice N Santosh Hegde to be submitted on July 27. Addressing a press conference after an extensive discussions with cabinet colleagues and party leaders on the recent happenings in the state following the leakage of the Lokayukta report, he said the state government had requested Lokayukta Justice Santosh Hegde to probe the gamut of mining including issue of fresh leases and exports of iron ore that took place from the time of former Chief Minister S M Krishna’s regime till today. ”I am also keenly awaiting the report of the Lokayukta,” he said, adding leakage of the final report would not dilute effectiveness of the report.
