BJP eyes on dalits vote in Delhi

The BJP is trying out its best to garner the support of Dalits in the upcoming Delhi Assembly polls.

BJP on Friday held the Maha Dalit Sammelan at Talkatora Stadium, BJP chief Amit Shah listed out various measures like Jan Dhan scheme and regularization of illegal colonies in the national capital to woo the Dalit voters.

Dalits, constitutes one-fourth of the electorate, are huge vote bank for BJP as 12 out of the 70 assembly constituencies are reserved for Scheduled Caste candidates.

“After the announcement of Delhi polls, it is the first election rally in the national capital and it shows the BJP’s concern for the downtrodden.

BJP MP Vijay Goel, was also present on the occasion, said it was the BJP-NDA Government which took steps to regularize the unauthorized colonies.

Goel also promised that power tariff will be slashed by 30 per cent if the BJP were to form the next government in Delhi.
