BJP senior leader M Venkaiah Naidu on Wednesday described the Congress party’s rule as a “saga of betrayals and broken promises”.
Addresing the BJP dharna against UPA’s Corruption and Misrule at Indira Park, Venkaiah Naidu alleged that the government was neck-deep in corruption. “Sky-rocketing prices are breaking the backbone of “Aam Admi” continuously. Farmers’ suicides are continuing unabated. Internal security is thrown to the winds,” he said.
The BJP leader said that all sections of the society were unhappy with the government of the day. He said that the government promised to control prices within 100 days of coming to power. However, the government itself hiked the prices of petroleum products like diesel, LPG 24 times and fertilizers prices 12 times in 24 months. He also alleged that the government was trying to protect those who stashed black money in foreign countries and did not disclose the names of nearly 700 names which it got from France. He also flayed the government for burdening the common people with unprecedented price rice.
Venkaiah Naidu alleged that the Congress government has betrayed the people of Telangana by making false promises and throwing the state of Andhra Pradesh into turmoil with their indecisiveness.
The BJP leader said that the Congress has promoted ministers who were facing serious corruption charges. Their policy is – promote the corrupt and demote the honest. He said when an allegation was made against the BJP President, he volunteered to face any inquiry. On the other hand, the Congress leadership is not only avoiding the media but also not ordering any inquiry into the serious allegations against them. That is the difference between the BJP and Congress, he said.
Former union minister Bandaru Dattatreyya, State President G Kishan Reddy and other leaders also addressed the dharna. (INN)
