BJP floor leader Dr. K. Lakshman on Monday demanded that the TRS Government extend Rs. 6 lakh ex-gratia to all the families of farmers who committed suicide after formation of Telangana State.
Speaking to media persons after chairing the BJP Legislature Party meeting here, Lakshman said that the State Cabinet’s decision to provide enhanced ex-gratia to farmers’ families with effect from September 19 was wrong. He said that the TRS Government enhanced the compensation amount due to pressure from opposition parties and in view of forthcoming Assembly session.
Lakshman also condemned the State Government for not taking measures to control spread of diseases like dengue, malaria, Swine Flu, etc., He said common people were being forced to spend their hard earned due to the negligence of the GHMC. He said that the BJPLP has identified several issues which would be raised during the forthcoming Assembly session. (INN)
