Hyderabad, July 07: The national BJP leader, Mr Nallu Indrasena Reddy, has demanded that the Chief Minister, Mr K Rosaiah, tender an unconditional apology to the nation for showing disrespect to the President, Ms Pratibha Bharati, and the Governor, Mr E S L Narasimhan, in the invitation cards printed for the 500th anniversary celebrations of Coronation of Srikrishna Devaraya.
Speaking at the Assembly mediapoint here on Tuesday, Mr Indrasena Reddy pointed out that in the invitation card while the words Chief Minister was prefixed by “Honorable”, those of the President of India and Governor were preceded by ‘Sri’ like ordinary persons instead of describing them as “His Excellency”.
The BJP leader has demanded that the Chief Minister own moral responsibility for belittling the offices of the President of India and Governor and apologize to the nation.
Mr Reddy also pointed out that a book brought out by the Department of Information & Public Relations on the occasion of the recent State Budget, a wrong photograph was printed in the place of Governor, Mr E S L Narasimhan’s picture. This clearly shows that the State government has no respect for the President and the Governor and treating them as ordinary citizens, he added.
